Salad is healthy cold food which is mainly a combination of many vegetables, nuts, fruits, meat, cereals in an attractive way. There are two types of salad: a simple salad and compound salad. Today I will teach you to make this type of salad. The Salad Recipe is listed below:


  1. Simple Salad Recipe

This type of salad is made of fruits or vegetables which are served during mealtime as an accompaniment.

Ingredients

  • Tomato - 3 (250 gm)

  • Cucumber - 2 (250 gm)

  • Onion - 1 ( medium)

  • Carrot - 1 (medium)

  • Green Chili - 2

  • Salt - ½ tsp salt

  • Lemon squash - 1 tsp

  • Some chopped coriander leaves


Method

  1. To make the salad at first, wash all the vegetable ingredients.

  2. Cut the upper and low sides of the cucumber after this cut the remaining body to round in shape.

  3. Cut the fresh tomatoes, carrot, and cucumber in a slice shape.

  4. Chopped the coriander leaves, onion, and green chili.

  5. Take a bowel and mix all recently cut ingredients. Then add salt, lemon squash, and mix.

  6. Now ready to serve.


2) Compound Salad

The combination of more than two ingredients in which liquid or semi-liquid ingredients are also mixed is called a compound salad. The salad consists of basic components and they are base, body, dressing, and garnish. There are many types of compound salad and they are Chicken salad, Coleslaw salad, Russian salad, etc.


Chicken Salad Recipe

Ingredients

  • Boneless chicken breast - 1 (400 gm)

  • Pepper ( to season)

  • Salt to taste

  • Red chili flakes - ½ tsp

  • Dried thyme - ½  tsp

  • Vinegar - 1 tsp

  • Olive oil - 1 tbsp

  • Ginger garlic paste - 1 tbsp

  • Lime juice - 2 tsp

  • Thick yogurt - 3 tbsp

  • Mayonnaise - 3 tbsp

  • Worcestershire sauce - 2 tsp

  • Mustard paste -  1 tbsp

  •  Some fresh cilantro

  • Dry parmesan cheese - ¼ cup

  • Chopped onion - 1 ( medium)

  • Chopped celery - ¼ cup

  • Chopped lettuce - 2 (medium)

  • Half cherry tomatoes - 6 to 8

  • Croutons - ½ cup

  • Some walnuts and almonds (toasted)


Method

  1. Take a bowl and keep the chicken on it. Then marinate the chicken with pepper and salt, garlic-ginger paste, olive oil, vinegar, thyme, red chili flake. Coat on all sides then let it marinate for about 15 to 20 minutes.

  2. Take another bowl, add yogurt, mayonnaise, olive oil, lime juice, Worcestershire sauce, mustard sauce, salt, and put in the fridge after mixing well.

  3. Take a medium-size bowl and add onions, lettuce, tomatoes then mix them well.

  4. Turn on the flame, keep the pan and olive oil then place the marinated chicken on it. For 2 to 3 minutes cook both sides until they become golden brown.

  5. After this keep that chicken on a plate and cut into strips after cool down.

  6. Come to the assembling part and mix the chicken strips to recently made mixed vegetables. Then add this to step by the bowl and mix.

  7. Again add salt, add celery, almonds, walnuts, parmesan cheese, croutons and mix them all properly.

  8. Now ready to eat.


Coleslaw Salad Recipe

Ingredients

  • White/red cabbage - 200 gm

  • Carrot - 75 gm

  • Onion - 25 gm

  • Radish - 50 gm

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Mayonnaise - 50 gm


Method

  1. Peel, trim, and wash cabbage, onion, radish, and carrot.

  2. Cut them in julienne shape

  3. Take the bowl and pour all julienne shaped vegetables.

  4. Add salt and leave it until it leaves the juice.

  5. Mix it well after straining the juice and adding mayonnaise.

  6. On the base of the lettuce leaf, portion out the mixture then garnish and serve.


Russian salad

It is also healthy food and the Russian salad recipe is listed below:


Ingredients

  • Carrots - 4

  • Potato - 2

  • Cucumber - 1

  • Peas - 1 cup

  • Apple - 2

  • Pineapple - 1 cup

  • Mayonnaise - ½ cup

  • Cream ½ cup

  • Caster sugar - 1 tbsp

  • Salt - 1 tsp

  • White pepper powder ½ tsp

  • Black pepper powder ½ tsp


Method

  1. In chunks cut all the vegetables and fruits in a small 1 cm cubical box size.

  2. Boil carrots, peas, potatoes, and drain them well.

  3. Take a bowl and keep all the cut vegetables and fruits. Then add boiled vegetables, black pepper, white pepper, mayonnaise, sugar, cream, salt and mix them well.

  4. Now ready to serve.



Rice Salad Recipe

Ingredients

  • Boiled rice - 2.5 cup

  • Chopped yellow capsicum - 1

  • Chopped red capsicum - 1

  • Chopped celery

  • Honey - 2 tsp

  • Mustard paste - 2 tsp

  • Coriander leaves 

  • Celery leaves

  • Black pepper powder - ½ tsp

  • Peanuts - 50 gram

  • Salt - 2 tsp


Method

  1. Take a bowl, keep boiled rice, red capsicum, yellow capsicum, celery, mustard paste, honey and mix all together properly.

  2. Turn on the flame, keep the pan, and toast the peanuts. Then it was a recently made rice mixture. Mix them well.

  3. Again mix the rice mixture by adding black pepper, coriander leaves, salt, and celery.

  4. Now ready to serve.
